"To me, as an artist, dance is much more than just movement. By definition, Performance and Choreography may be considered separate ideas; however, I believe they must go hand in hand. As a performer, I feel it is most important to retain engaged and intentional focus on the goal of the performance. I often find myself thinking of how I  personally relate to the intended conceptual idea in order to spark genuineness in the choreographic movement I exude. I aim to offer problem-solving, adaptability, and communicative skills so that, in return, a positive, high-energy, and effective work environment is produced. As a choreographer, I am greatly interested in how there is no singular correct way to develop movement, and I am constantly aiming to discover new ways to go about the process. I enjoy play and open-mindedness, as well as being inventive and imaginative with where my creative flow takes me. Currently, my choreographic process tends to take a nonlinear timeline, where I do not force the creation of movement to happen in chronological order, because, for me, staying too tied to the start to finish of a product tends to douse my creativity. I believe the vulnerability of risk-taking is important and reinforces trust in myself. With movement, it is important to me to push for authenticity, uniqueness, thoughtfulness, and reason. I enjoy movement that is asymmetrical, unexpected, and visually engaging. When it comes to conceptual elements, I attempt to connect communicatively with an audience even if only through emotion. Recently, I have been addressing stories about the human experience, big and small, narrative and abstract. I feel that getting an audience to feel relation and appreciation for work is one of the best ways to keep art relevant to the outside world. Yes, dance is a physical movement, but it also means being moved from within."
